What does OEM
mean?
OEM stands for 'original equipment manufacturer'.
OEM cartridges are manufactured by your printer
supplier, e.g. Canon, Epson, HP or Lemark. They
are commonly referred to as 'originals'.
What is a compatible
cartridge?
A compatible cartridge is manufactured by a
third party source other than the original equipment
manufacturer. Most compatibles are manufactured
using new materials, however in some cases,
due to patents etc., some cartridges are re-manufactured
using the original manufacturer's components.
Are compatibles
easy to install?
Compatible cartridges are installed in exactly
the same manner as original cartridges.
Why should I buy
a compatible cartridge?
Compatible cartridges are substantially cheaper
than originals. They are engineered to the highest
standards of quality and reliability with ink
yields that meet and often exceed those of an
OEM cartridge.
Will using a compatible
cartridge void my printer manufacturer's warranty?
No. The original equipment manufacturer is not
allowed to void your warranty simply because
you have used a compatible cartridge.
